Passive infrared sensor Brennenstuhl PIR 240

The Brennenstuhl PIR 240 is a wired passive infrared sensor designed for indoor and outdoor lighting control. With an IP44 rating and an anthracite housing, it detects movement within a 240° angle and up to 12 m range and automatically switches connected lamps on or off when motion is detected. The sensor operates at 230 V and supports incandescent, halogen, energy-saving and LED lamps with specified maximum switching capacities.

How to use

Mount the wired PIR 240 sensor on a stable surface using the included corner attachment or by direct wall fixing. Adjust the horizontal and vertical angle so the detection zone covers the desired area. Connect the unit to a 230 V supply and to the lighting circuit following local electrical regulations or have a qualified electrician perform the installation. Set the response brightness and duty cycle to required values to avoid unwanted triggers during daylight or brief movements.

Recommendations

For reliable detection and safe operation, install the sensor at a height and angle that minimises detection of roads or public walkways to reduce false triggers. Do not expose the unit to direct heavy rain despite IP44 rating, and observe the specified maximum lamp wattages for each lamp type.
