How to use

Screw the 55 mm filter into the front filter thread of a compatible lens. Rotate the filter ring to adjust the density and achieve the desired exposure reduction between about +1 and +8 stops. For long exposures, use a tripod and, if possible, a remote release or timer to minimise camera shake. When using wide apertures in bright light, rotate the filter until the exposure is correct and the background blur is as required.

Recommendations

For exposure times longer than about 1/30 s, moving water and other motion will appear smooth; for shorter exposures the motion will be frozen. Avoid stacking multiple dense filters that may cause vignetting on wide-angle lenses. Clean the filter with a suitable lens cloth and store it protected when not in use to preserve optical quality and potential resale value of your lens.
