Networking cable ShiverPeaks BS08-41050-2 5m Cat8.1 F/FTP Grey

The ShiverPeaks BS08-41050-2 5m Cat8.1 F/FTP Grey is a high-performance Ethernet cable designed for demanding network environments. It supports the Cat8.1 standard and features F/FTP shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference and crosstalk. Both ends are fitted with RJ-45 connectors, providing compatibility with modern network switches, routers and network interface cards while the 5 meter length offers flexibility for medium-range connections in offices, server rooms or AV installations.

Advantages

F/FTP shielding provides improved protection against external electromagnetic noise and pair-to-pair interference, which helps maintain signal integrity at high frequencies. The Cat8.1 rating indicates support for higher bandwidths and faster data rates compared with lower category cables. Standard RJ-45 terminations ensure broad device compatibility without the need for specialized connectors. The grey jacket offers a neutral appearance suitable for professional environments.

Suitable for

• High-speed data transmission between switches and servers
• Network backhaul and short-run connections in data centers
• Professional AV setups requiring shielded Ethernet cabling
• Workstation or office connections where a 5 m reach is required

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat8.1
• Shielding type: F/FTP (overall foil shield with individually foiled pairs)
• Connector type: RJ-45 on both ends
• Length: 5 meters
• Color: Grey

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 connector to the network port of your switch, router or network device and the other end to the target device. Ensure that both endpoints and intermediary hardware support the intended data rates and shielding benefits. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and sources of strong electromagnetic interference; leave some slack to prevent strain on connectors. For optimal performance, use with equipment rated for high-frequency Ethernet and in installations that can benefit from shielded cabling.

Recommendations

For best results, pair this Cat8.1 F/FTP cable with shielded ports and grounding where applicable. Avoid running the cable in parallel with high-voltage power lines and maintain bend radii that comply with manufacturer guidance to preserve signal quality over time.
