Network Switch Edimax ES-1008P V2

The Edimax ES-1008P V2 is an 8-port Fast Ethernet switch with Power over Ethernet (PoE+) support, designed for home, small and medium-sized networks. It supplies data and power to PoE-enabled devices such as wireless access points, network cameras and IP phones while also connecting non-PoE devices like computers, printers or NAS. Advantages

How to use

Plug the ES-1008P V2 into AC mains and connect devices using standard Cat-5e or better Ethernet cables. For PoE devices, simply connect the device to any of the PoE-enabled ports and the switch will detect and supply power if the device is IEEE 802.3at/af compliant. Use the DIP switches to enable or disable PoE per port, activate CCTV mode for improved multicast video handling, enable port isolation or set hardware QoS priority as needed.

Recommendations

For long-distance PoE powering, enable the designated DIP switches to activate 10 Mbps duplex mode which extends power delivery up to 200 meters; verify that connected devices tolerate the lower link speed. Use CCTV mode when multiple IP cameras are deployed to improve multicast performance and enable port isolation to reduce broadcast or multicast interference between cameras.
