Mikrotik wAP LR2 kit 300 Mbit/s White Power over Ethernet PoE

The MikroTik wAP LR2 kit is an out-of-the-box LoRa® gateway and outdoor access point designed for industrial and IoT deployments. It combines a pre-installed UDP packet forwarder compatible with public or private LoRa® servers and a weatherproof wireless access point with 2.4 GHz WLAN and an Ethernet port with PoE-in. This unit supports LoRa® operation in the 2.4 GHz band, providing higher bandwidth and data rates while reducing airtime thanks to Chirp modulation, and it retains the proven wAP form factor for reliable performance in harsh outdoor conditions.

Advantages

Chirp modulation prevents interference with standard 2.4 GHz WLAN signals. The kit includes an internal 2 dBi WLAN and 4.7 dBi LoRa® antenna and supports an optional external antenna (recommended: TOF-2400-8V-4) to extend coverage. The weatherproof, compact wAP enclosure provides stable operation outdoors and offers PoE-in over the Ethernet port for flexible installation.

How to use

Install the wAP LR2 kit outdoors using appropriate mounting hardware, connect the Ethernet cable to a PoE injector or PoE switch to power the device, and configure the pre-installed UDP packet forwarder to point to your public or private LoRa® server. If additional range is required, attach a supported external antenna to the LoRa® connector. Use the 2.4 GHz WLAN interface for local management or as a backend connection as needed.

Recommendations

For best LoRa® coverage in dense deployments, use the recommended TOF-2400-8V-4 omni antenna and place gateways with adequate spacing to avoid RF congestion; verify server endpoint settings for the UDP packet forwarder and remember the device lacks an internal LTE modem — replace the LoRa interface card with an LTE modem only if cellular connectivity is required.
