Why Choose LINDY at DistriNode?
Cat.8.1 vs Cat.6A: Which Do You Need?
Cat.8.1 S/FTP cables deliver up to 40Gbps over 30m — ideal for spine-leaf data centre switching and high-density server racks. Cat.6A is sufficient for most office Gigabit and 10G runs up to 100m. LINDY stocks both in a full range of lengths, making it easy to future-proof your cabling infrastructure without over-specifying every run.
LSZH Rated Cables for Fire-Safe Installations
Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) jacketing is mandatory in plenum spaces, open-plan offices, and public buildings where toxic fume emission during a fire is a safety hazard. LINDY's LSZH patch cables meet these compliance requirements without compromising flex or connector quality — a must-specify for commercial fit-outs and refurbs.
USB Data Blockers: Charge Safely Anywhere
LINDY's USB data blockers and port blockers prevent "juice jacking" at public charging stations and lock unused USB ports in kiosks, libraries, and corporate PCs. The Type-A to Type-C adaptor (e.g. 71264) passes power only, physically severing data lines — a simple, cost-effective layer of physical cybersecurity.
DisplayPort vs HDMI: Choosing the Right Video Cable
HDMI 2.1 supports 4K/120Hz and eARC for home-theatre setups, while DisplayPort 1.4 offers higher bandwidth and daisy-chaining for multi-monitor professional workstations. LINDY produces certified cables for both standards — check your GPU and monitor specs, then select the version that matches your refresh rate and resolution requirements.

Professional installation tip: Always specify LSZH-rated LINDY patch cables for ceiling voids, air-handling plenums, and open-plan offices. Standard PVC jacketing releases toxic halogen gases when burned; LSZH compounds produce minimal smoke and zero halogen — a requirement under SANS 10142 and IEC 60332 for commercial premises in South Africa and internationally.
LINDY at DistriNode – Frequently Asked Questions
Does DistriNode stock LINDY Cat.8.1 cables in multiple lengths?
Yes. Our LINDY Ethernet range includes Cat.8.1 S/FTP LSZH patch cables in a variety of lengths — from 0.5m for neat patch-panel builds to longer runs — all available in Grey. These cables meet the 40GBase-T specification and are suitable for demanding data centre and enterprise backbone applications.
What is the difference between LINDY USB port blockers and USB data blockers?
USB port blockers are physical lock-and-key inserts that prevent any device from being plugged into an unused USB port — used to enforce IT security policy on shared or public terminals. USB data blockers (like the LINDY 71264 Type-A to C adapter) allow a cable to be connected for charging but physically sever the data pins so no data transfer is possible. Both are stocked at DistriNode.
Are LINDY cables covered by a warranty when purchased from DistriNode?
LINDY products purchased through DistriNode carry the standard manufacturer's warranty. DistriNode ensures all LINDY stock is genuine and sourced through authorised channels. Contact our support team for warranty claims or product queries related to your LINDY purchase.
