The GoPro Max Lens Mod 2.0 converts compatible HERO cameras into a wide-angle POV system, offering an expanded field of view and advanced stabilization for immersive footage. Designed for HERO13 and HERO12, the mod provides up to a 177° field of view at up to 4K60 and delivers Max HyperSmooth stabilization, Horizon Lock, and improved TimeWarp performance. The accessory is smaller and lighter than the previous version, features a more scratch-resistant hydrophobic lens, and installs and removes without tools. It is waterproof to 16 ft (5 m) when installed on a GoPro; underwater use is not recommended due to possible image distortion.

How to use

Attach the Max Lens Mod 2.0 directly to a compatible HERO12 or HERO13 camera using the built-in mounting interface. Select your preferred digital lens setting (for example, Max SuperView) in the camera menu to take full advantage of the expanded field of view. Use Max HyperSmooth and Horizon Lock in the camera settings to enable strong stabilization and level footage during capture. Remove protective caps before use and wipe the lens with the included cleaning cloth as needed. Installation and removal are tool-free.

Recommendations

Use the Max Lens Mod 2.0 for wide POV shots, vertical social videos, and stabilized action footage. Although the mod is waterproof to 5 m when installed, avoid relying on it for underwater filming because the wide lens can produce distortion below the surface.
