Lenovo 01YU028 interface cards/adapter RJ-45

The Lenovo 01YU028 is a compact USB Type-A to RJ-45 interface card adapter designed to provide reliable wired network connectivity for laptops, desktops and other compatible hosts. With a male USB Type-A host connector and a standard RJ-45 output, this adapter enables devices without a built-in Ethernet port to access Gigabit networks through a simple plug-and-play connection. The adapter's lightweight, black housing makes it easy to carry and integrate into mobile working setups or stationary workstations.

Advantages

The adapter offers a straightforward way to add wired Ethernet capability to systems that lack an RJ-45 port. Its USB Type-A connection delivers stable data transmission to the RJ-45 interface while maintaining a small footprint. The physical design minimizes cable clutter and the adapter's compatibility with common operating systems supports quick deployment without extensive driver configuration in many environments.

Suitable for

• Adding Ethernet connectivity to ultrabooks, tablets or thin clients that only have USB Type-A ports
• Temporary wired connections in conference rooms, hotels or shared workspaces
• Network diagnostics and troubleshooting where a direct Ethernet link is required
• Home or office setups requiring a compact, portable adapter for wired networking

Key specifications

• Host interface: USB Type-A (male)
• Network interface: RJ-45 (female) Ethernet
• Color: Black
• Form factor: Compact, lightweight adapter
• Compatibility: Designed for general USB-to-Ethernet connectivity with common operating systems

How to use

Connect the USB Type-A plug of the Lenovo 01YU028 adapter to an available USB Type-A port on your computer or host device. Attach a standard Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 port on the adapter and to your network outlet or switch. On most systems the adapter will be recognized automatically; if prompted, install any required drivers provided by the operating system or available from the device manufacturer. Once connected, configure network settings through your operating system's network control panel if manual configuration is necessary.

Recommendations

For stable performance, use a high-quality Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable and connect to a compatible network switch or router. Avoid excessive bending or strain on the adapter and cable junction to prolong service life. If the host device does not automatically detect the adapter, consult the system's driver support resources to download the correct drivers.
