The Victron Energy BBA000100100 Battery Balancer equalizes the state of charge between two series-connected 12V batteries or between several parallel strings of series-connected batteries. When the charge voltage of a 24V battery system rises above 27V, the balancer activates and compares the voltages of the two series-connected batteries. It draws up to 1 A from the battery (or parallel-connected batteries) with the higher voltage so that the charge current differential causes the batteries to converge to the same state of charge. Multiple balancers can be paralleled when required; a 48V battery bank can be balanced using three units.
