IP security camera Hikvision DS-2CD2787G2HT-LIZS Outdoor 3840 x 2160

The Hikvision DS-2CD2787G2HT-LIZS Outdoor 3840 x 2160 is an 8 MP turret-style IP security camera designed for outdoor ceiling-mounted surveillance. It captures video at 3840 x 2160 resolution and supports a frame rate of up to 30 fps. The camera uses a CMOS sensor and a motorized varifocal lens with a focal length range of 2.8–12 mm, providing a horizontal field of view that varies from approximately 112° at wide angle to 41.2° at telephoto and a vertical field from about 58.1° to 23.1°. With color-capable imaging and Smart Hybrid Light technology, the unit is intended to deliver clear images across varied lighting conditions while keeping network bandwidth and storage requirements efficient.

Advantages

The camera offers high-resolution 8 MP imaging for detailed scene capture, combined with motorized varifocal optics for on-site or remote adjustment of framing. Wired Ethernet connectivity ensures stable network performance for continuous recording, and built-in video motion detection enables automated event-triggered recording or alerts. The turret form factor and ceiling mounting design simplify installation for a range of outdoor locations. The device is supplied in a white finish and weighs approximately 0.82 kg.

Suitable for

• Perimeter surveillance of commercial or residential properties
• Parking lots and vehicle access points

How to use

Mount the camera on a suitable ceiling or overhang using appropriate fixings for the installation surface and ensure the camera housing is oriented to cover the intended area. Connect the unit to a PoE-enabled switch or a compatible power source and wired Ethernet network for data and power delivery. Use the camera's motorized varifocal lens to adjust focal length and framing either during installation via the camera's web interface or supported configuration software. Configure recording, motion detection and event rules through the recorder or management platform to meet monitoring and storage needs.

Recommendations

For reliable outdoor performance, install the camera under a protective overhang when possible, route and seal network cable entries to prevent water ingress, and verify network bandwidth and storage capacity to support 8 MP video at 30 fps. Regularly check firmware updates and use a compatible VMS or NVR to enable motion detection and event management features.
