Yealink W74P Grey is a cordless IP phone base station designed for small and medium business VoIP deployments. The system supports registration of up to 10 Yealink W74H DECT handsets and delivers capacity for up to 10 SIP accounts and 20 concurrent calls. The W74P integrates a 1.8" TFT (128×160) handset interface, Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbps) connectivity, Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, built-in Bluetooth and a hands-free speakerphone. The device implements SRTP and TLS for call security and can be expanded with up to six optional repeaters to extend DECT coverage up to the manufacturer’s specified indoor and outdoor ranges.

How to use

Install the W74P base on a network point with PoE or provide an external power source if PoE is not available. Register Yealink W74H handsets to the base via DECT pairing following the handset pairing procedure. Configure SIP accounts and network settings through the web management interface or provisioning server. Use the handset display and menus to manage calls, access the phonebook and pair Bluetooth devices. For extended coverage, deploy optional DECT repeaters in areas with weak signal and register them to the base station.

Recommendations

Place the base station centrally within the coverage area and avoid obstructions such as large metal objects to ensure optimal DECT range. Use PoE where possible to simplify installation and ensure stable power. Keep firmware updated and enable SRTP/TLS to maintain secure communications.
