The InLine® serial extension with 9-pin Sub-D plug to 9-pin Sub-D socket is used to extend existing serial interfaces. It is suitable for RS232, RS422 and RS485 connections between peripheral devices, data switches and PC or server systems.
Thanks to the 1:1 pin assignment, all pins are directly connected. There is no cross-wiring. This means that the signal structure of the existing connection remains unchanged.
The moulded connectors support a stable mechanical connection and are designed for regular use. The standardised 9-pin Sub D assembly allows for easy integration into existing installations.
The cable is available in several defined lengths and can be flexibly adapted to different installation requirements.

How to use

Connect the male 9-pin D-sub connector to the serial port of the PC, server or data switch and attach the female 9-pin connector to the peripheral device's serial cable or port. Ensure connectors are fully seated and, if present, secure any thumbscrews to prevent accidental disconnection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and sources of electromagnetic interference.

Recommendations

For reliable communication, use this cable with standard RS-232 devices and avoid running the cable in parallel with high-voltage power lines. Inspect connectors before use and replace the cable if the moulded ends or wiring show visible damage.
