The InLine® serial extension with 9-pin Sub-D plug to 9-pin Sub-D socket is used to extend existing serial interfaces. It is suitable for RS232, RS422 and RS485 connections between peripheral devices, data switches and PC or server systems.
Thanks to the 1:1 pin assignment, all pins are directly connected. There is no cross-wiring. This means that the signal structure of the existing connection remains unchanged.
The moulded connectors support a stable mechanical connection and are designed for regular use. The standardised 9-pin Sub D assembly allows for easy integration into existing installations.
The cable is available in several defined lengths and can be flexibly adapted to different installation requirements.

How to use

Ensure both devices (PC/server and peripheral or switch) are powered off before connecting. Plug the 9‑pin male connector into the serial port of one device and the 9‑pin female connector onto the corresponding port of the other device, verifying a secure fit. After connections are made, power on the devices and configure serial communication settings (baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits) in the device software if required.

Recommendations

Avoid routing the cable parallel and close to high‑voltage power lines or sources of electromagnetic interference to minimise signal degradation. Use cable clips or ties to prevent sharp bends and mechanical strain on the molded connectors.
