The InLine® serial extension with 9-pin Sub-D plug to 9-pin Sub-D socket is used to extend existing serial interfaces. It is suitable for RS232, RS422 and RS485 connections between peripheral devices, data switches and PC or server systems.
Thanks to the 1:1 pin assignment, all pins are directly connected. There is no cross-wiring. This means that the signal structure of the existing connection remains unchanged.
The moulded connectors support a stable mechanical connection and are designed for regular use. The standardised 9-pin Sub D assembly allows for easy integration into existing installations.
The cable is available in several defined lengths and can be flexibly adapted to different installation requirements.

How to use

Align the male and female 9‑pin Sub D connectors and insert them until the connector housings meet. Secure any fastening screws if present to prevent loosening. Use the cable to extend an existing serial connection or to directly connect a peripheral device to a computer or server. Avoid twisting or sharply bending the cable near the connector ends.

Recommendations

For reliable signal transmission, keep cable runs as short as practical and avoid routing parallel to high-voltage power lines. If using in industrial environments, ensure connectors are properly secured and inspect the moulded ends periodically for wear.
