The installation cable is supplied in a drum box that allows convenient removal of the required length. The cable is wound on a plastic reel fixed inside a reinforced cardboard box to enable tangle-free unrolling and protect the cable during transport and storage. The InLine Cat.7a S/FTP installation cable supports up to 1200 MHz and data rates up to 10 Gbit/s, has full copper conductors, an overall braided shield with pairwise metal foil (S/FTP), and a halogen-free LSZH orange sheath. The delivered product for the 500 m length is on a drum; shorter bundle packaging options include box packaging for 10 m and 25 m and drum boxes for 50 m, 100 m, and 300 m.

How to use

Place the drum or box on a stable surface or a suitable dispenser so the plastic reel can rotate freely. Pull the required cable length and cut at the remaining-metre indicator if needed. Install the cable following standard Cat.7a installation practices: avoid tight bends (respect minimum bend radius), maintain separation from strong electrical sources where possible, and terminate with compatible connectors and shielded components to preserve S/FTP performance. Ensure temperature limits are observed during installation.

Recommendations

For best shielding and performance, terminate the cable with shielded connectors and use proper grounding for the overall braid. Store and transport the drum box upright to prevent deformation of the reel and protect the sheath from mechanical damage.
