ATEN EA1640 is an indoor temperature and humidity sensor designed for environmental monitoring in enclosed spaces. It measures temperature between −10 °C and 75 °C and monitors relative humidity across the full 0–100% range. The compact housing (35.7 × 104.4 × 21.4 mm) and included 1.5 m RJ-45 cable, magnet and rack-mount kits allow flexible placement inside server racks, equipment cabinets, offices and other controlled environments. The EA1640 integrates with ATEN PG series PDUs and supports daisy-chaining up to eight devices for expanded coverage.

How to use

Connect the EA1640 to an ATEN PG series PDU using the RJ-45 input port and, if required, daisy-chain additional EA1640 units via the RJ-45 output. Use the RJ-11 input or terminal block to attach compatible environmental, door or leakage sensors. Place the sensor at the monitoring point using the supplied 1.5 m cable, attach it to a metallic surface with the built-in magnet or secure it inside a rack with the included mount kit. Verify readings through the PDU management interface and set alert thresholds there when supported.

Recommendations

Install the EA1640 away from direct heat sources, ventilation outlets or water ingress points to ensure representative measurements. For critical installations, position sensors at the locations that reflect device intake air or room center points and validate sensor readings against a calibrated reference during initial setup. Limit daisy-chain length and device count according to installation guidelines to preserve signal integrity.
