AXIS T98A-VE Surveillance Cabinet Series is a polycarbonate enclosure designed for outdoor video surveillance installations. It has an IP66 rating for protection against dust and high-pressure water jets and meets NEMA 4X requirements for resistance to windblown dust, salt spray, rain and hose-directed water. The cabinet material is IK10-rated to resist impact and vandalism. Vibration ratings are supported (4M4 and 4M3 for AXIS T98A18-VE). The modular construction and separated compartments allow safe integration of mains power and low-voltage equipment.

Advantages

The modular design enables step-by-step installation where the mounting plate, mains power components and low-voltage units can be installed by different specialists in sequence to optimize workflow. A range of optional mounting brackets allows the mounting plate to be installed on a wall, pole or building corner. The polycarbonate base is lightweight for easier handling and the door can be fitted with left or right hinges using removable pins; hinges include a 105° stop to prevent the door from swinging back. A pre-mounted DIN rail and molded DIN rail feature simplify device mounting and cabling. An optional electrical safety kit provides surge protection, a fuse and an alarm-door switch for intrusion detection.

How to use

Begin by mounting the AXIS T98A-VE Mounting Plate with cable protection on the selected surface using the appropriate bracket. Next, have the certified electrician install and cover the mains power components with the power cover. After mains work is complete, install low-voltage units on the pre-mounted or molded DIN rail and route cables through the cabinet. The cabinet base can hang on the mounted plate hooks while cables are connected, then slide and secure the base to the plate with screws. Set the door hinge orientation as required and ensure the hinge stop is engaged to hold the door at 105° during installation.

Recommendations

Use the optional electrical safety kit when mains components are present, and follow local electrical codes by having certified electricians perform mains installations. Choose mounting brackets appropriate for the installation surface and verify sealing after installation to maintain IP66/NEMA 4X protection.
