The Black & Decker KX1650 is a 1750 W heat gun engineered to provide controlled high-temperature airflow for a variety of workshop and home tasks. Capable of reaching temperatures up to 600 °C with adjustable airflow between 570 and 740 l/min, this heat gun supports paint and varnish removal, heat shrink applications, loosening adhesives, and light metalworking tasks. The tool features an ergonomic grip for stable handling and variable settings to match heat output and airflow to the job.

Advantages

The adjustable temperature and airflow allow precise control over heat intensity, reducing the risk of damaging nearby materials. The 1750 W power rating ensures fast heat-up times and sustained output for continuous use. Design elements such as an ergonomic handle improve comfort during extended operation, while the broad temperature range up to 600 °C expands the range of possible uses from delicate plastic work to heavier-stripping tasks.

Suitable for

  • Paint and varnish stripping from wood, metal or masonry
  • Heat shrink tubing for electrical and cable repairs
  • Softening adhesives and removing tiles or decals
  • Soldering and desoldering small metal parts
  • Forming or bending plastics and tubing

Key specifications

  • Power: 1750 W
  • Maximum temperature: up to 600 °C
  • Airflow range: 570–740 l/min (adjustable)
  • Ergonomic grip for comfortable handling
  • Variable heat and airflow control

How to use

Select the appropriate temperature and airflow setting for the material and task before switching the heat gun on. Hold the tool at a safe distance and move it steadily across the work surface; for paint stripping keep the nozzle a few centimetres away and scrape softened paint with a suitable scraper. Use lower temperature and airflow for heat shrink tubing and delicate plastics, and higher settings for stubborn coatings and metal tasks. Allow the nozzle and heated workpiece to cool before storing or touching.

Recommendations

Use heat-resistant gloves and eye protection when operating the heat gun. Work in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling fumes released during paint or adhesive removal. Keep the nozzle clear of flammable materials and allow the tool to cool fully before storage.
