Gorenje SIH2200RBC Steam iron Ceramic soleplate 2200 W Red

The Gorenje SIH2200RBC steam iron combines a 2200 W heating element with a ceramic soleplate to deliver steady heat distribution and smooth gliding across fabrics. Designed for everyday ironing, this red iron has a compact footprint (133 mm width × 320 mm depth × 145 mm height) and a lightweight build of 1.3 kg. The 0.3 L water tank supports continuous steam and the 2.5 m cord offers comfortable reach when ironing larger items or using a separate ironing board. The iron also includes a vertical steam function for removing creases from hanging garments and curtains.

Advantages

The ceramic soleplate ensures uniform heat transfer and reduced sticking, supporting efficient crease removal on most fabric types. At 2200 W the iron reaches operating temperature quickly, shortening preparation time. The 0.3 L water tank and vertical steam function increase versatility, enabling both traditional ironing and steam refresh of hanging textiles. The iron’s 1.3 kg weight balances stability and maneuverability, while the 2.5 m cord provides added flexibility during use.

Suitable for

• Daily household ironing of shirts, trousers and blouses
• Quick steam refresh of hanging garments and curtains using vertical steam
• Ironing medium-sized garments and linens on a standard ironing board
• Users who prefer a ceramic soleplate for smooth glide and even heat

How to use

Fill the 0.3 L water tank according to the user manual and select the appropriate fabric temperature setting on the iron. Allow the iron to heat until the indicator shows it is ready. For standard ironing, glide the ceramic soleplate over the fabric with moderate pressure and use steam bursts for stubborn creases. For vertical steaming, hold the iron upright a short distance from the hanging textile and apply short steam pulses while gently smoothing the fabric with your free hand if needed. Unplug the appliance after use and empty any remaining water to reduce mineral build-up.

Recommendations

Use distilled or demineralized water where local water hardness is high to limit limescale formation. Regularly clean the ceramic soleplate with a soft cloth and follow the maintenance instructions in the manual. When ironing delicate fabrics, choose a lower temperature and test on an inconspicuous area first. Store the iron on a heat-resistant surface once it has fully cooled.
