Fibre optic cable EFB Elektronik O0321.15 — OM2, 15 m, LC to ST, 50 µm, full duplex

EFB Elektronik O0321.15 is a 15 m multimode fibre optic cable built with OM2 grade fibre and a 50 µm core diameter. One end is terminated with an LC connector and the other with an ST connector, providing full-duplex optical transmission for short- to medium-range network links. The cable is intended for structured cabling in data centres, server rooms and local network interconnects where reliable multimode performance and mixed-connector flexibility are required.

Advantages

The cable combines OM2 multimode fibre with a 50 µm core to deliver consistent optical performance for Gigabit Ethernet and similar applications over short to medium distances. Having an LC connector on one end and an ST connector on the other allows direct connection between devices and patch panels with different port types without additional adapters. Full-duplex support enables simultaneous bi-directional data transfer, and the 15 m length covers typical runs between racks, switches and network equipment within a single room or adjacent rooms.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, routers and transceivers with LC and ST ports
• Patch panel to active equipment links in data centres and server rooms
• Local area network backbone segments and intra-building connections
• Short- to medium-range optical links for Gigabit Ethernet and legacy multimode systems

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM2 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 μm
• Length: 15 m
• Connector A: LC
• Connector B: ST
• Transmission: full-duplex
• Cable application: indoor network cabling / patching

How to use

Inspect both connectors for dust or damage before installation and clean with appropriate fibre optic cleaning tools if necessary. Route the cable along existing cable trays or management systems, avoiding tight bends and excessive tension; maintain the manufacturer's recommended minimum bend radius for multimode fibre. Insert the LC connector into the LC socket and the ST connector into the ST socket until they engage securely. Verify link operation using network equipment or optical test equipment and confirm receive/transmit polarity for full-duplex operation.

Recommendations

Store and handle the OM2 cable in a dry environment and avoid sharp bends or crushing. Use dust caps when connectors are not in use and perform regular cleaning and inspection to maintain low insertion loss and reliable network performance.
