Electrical switch accessory Eltako GLE

The Eltako GLE base load element is a small PTC device intended to ensure reliable switching when connected loads are not detected because of low capacitance. It is designed to start or operate in parallel with the related load and must be switched off together with that load. The GLE is compact and suitable for installation directly in the load, in a switch box or in a junction box. It cannot, however, keep the mains disconnection relay closed by itself and requires an additional load for that function.

How to use

Install the GLE in parallel with the load so it consistently starts or operates together with that load. Connect the device using its leads inside the load housing, switch box or junction box following local wiring regulations. Ensure the GLE is switched off together with the related load; do not rely on the GLE alone to keep a mains disconnection relay closed.

Recommendations

Use the GLE together with a suitable load; avoid placing high standby loads in parallel that could interfere with base load detection. For safe and correct installation refer to applicable electrical installation standards or a qualified electrician.
