tesa® 4590 is a unidirectional filament tape with glass filaments laminated to a polyester film. Designed for industrial bundling, palletizing and fixing tasks, the tape provides high longitudinal tensile strength with very low elongation. A synthetic rubber adhesive ensures secure bonding to a wide range of substrates, including non-polar surfaces such as PE and PP. The tape is tear-resistant, shows excellent adhesion to corrugated and solid board, and has high initial tack with a short time to reach final adhesive strength.

How to use

Clean and dry the application surface before applying the tape. Unwind the tape and apply with steady pressure along the length of the item to be bundled or along pallet seams. For best results, press the tape firmly to ensure full contact of the adhesive with the substrate. Overlap tape layers where additional strength is required. Remove by cutting the tape; for the cleanest removal on delicate surfaces test beforehand.

Recommendations

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For optimal performance, apply at room temperature and allow a short dwell time for adhesive to develop full strength before subjecting the load to heavy stress. On very delicate surfaces or critical applications, trial adhesion is recommended.
