This solid metal mobile rack by Delock fits into a free 3.5" bay of a PC and accepts 15 mm 2.5" storage drives. It uses a U.2 SFF-8639 interface that is also compatible with SATA and SAS connections. A 2.5" U.2 SSD can be mounted in the tray and slid into the rack; alternatively a SATA or SAS HDD/SSD can be installed. The SFF-8639 port on the rear supports either a SAS 29-pin or SATA cable, so the correct cable must be connected depending on the installed drive. The unit supports hot swapping to allow drive exchange during operation and the tray is protected by a key lock to prevent unauthorised access.

How to use

Mount a compatible 15 mm 2.5" drive into the supplied tray and secure it according to the tray's mounting points. Slide the tray into the rack installed in a free 3.5" bay. At the rear of the rack connect the appropriate data cable: use a U.2/SFF-8639 cable that provides the correct pinout, or connect a SATA or SAS cable as required by the drive. Power on the system and, if supported by your operating system, use the hot-swap function to exchange drives during operation. Lock the tray with the supplied key to prevent unauthorised removal when required.
