Contact grill Tefal SM193D — tabletop electric grill, black and stainless steel, 1.9 kg

Tefal SM193D is a compact tabletop contact grill finished in black and stainless steel, weighing 1.9 kg. Designed for quick indoor grilling, this electric unit heats two contact plates simultaneously to prepare sandwiches, meat and vegetables on a stable countertop footprint. Its slim, portable form factor makes it suitable for kitchens with limited space and for users who need an easy-to-store grill without complex controls. The grill does not include an adjustable thermostat and is configured for straightforward contact grilling at a preset temperature.

Advantages

The Tefal SM193D offers a small, lightweight design that is easy to move and store, combining a stainless steel finish with black accents for a clean kitchen look. Because it uses fixed-temperature contact plates, operation is simple and requires minimal user input, making it suitable for quick meal preparation. The dual-plate contact surface cooks both sides of food at once, reducing cooking time compared with single-sided appliances.

Suitable for

• Grilling sandwiches and panini
• Cooking thin cuts of meat such as chicken breasts or steaks
• Grilling vegetables and sliced produce
• Small households and countertop kitchens with limited storage
• Users who prefer a straightforward plug-and-play electric grill

Key specifications

• Form factor: Tabletop contact grill
• Weight: 1.9 kg
• Exterior finish: Black and stainless steel
• Heating configuration: Dual contact plates for simultaneous top and bottom heating
• Controls: Fixed preset temperature (no adjustable thermostat)

How to use

Place the Tefal SM193D on a stable, heat-resistant countertop and plug it into a suitable mains outlet. Preheat the grill as indicated by the manufacturer's ready signal or recommended preheating time, then open the lid and place food on the lower plate. Close the lid to make contact with the top plate and cook until the desired doneness is reached; cooking times depend on food thickness and type. After use, unplug the unit and allow it to cool before cleaning the exterior and contact plates according to the manufacturer's care instructions.

Recommendations

For best results, slice ingredients to an even thickness to ensure uniform contact cooking. When grilling lean meats or vegetables, consider lightly oiling the plates or the food to reduce sticking. Because the grill has no adjustable thermostat, monitor initial cooking cycles to learn approximate timing for your preferred level of browning and doneness.
