The wrench is hot-forged from Gedore vanadium steel (31CrV3) and finished with matt chrome-plating; important working surfaces such as the locking insert and pawl are manganese-phosphated for durability. Jaw faces are ground exactly to spanner size and the geometry is warp-resistant with a double T-girder effect. When combined with adaptor 7 RA or 7 RB (ordered separately), model 7 R can be used as a bit ratchet. A European patent has been applied for this design.
