The Hama Profi Line Circular polarising camera filter 62 mm (ZR Super Multi-Coating) is a precision rotary polariser designed to reduce non-metallic reflections and increase colour saturation and picture contrast. Made from high-quality lens glass with multi-layer anti-reflective coatings and a nano-coated surface, the filter also provides simultaneous protection for the front of the lens while maintaining minimal added thickness and weight. It fits lenses with a 62 mm thread and is supplied in a protective filter box.

How to use

Screw the filter onto a lens with a 62 mm front thread and rotate the outer ring while viewing the scene through the viewfinder or live view until the desired reduction in reflections and increase in contrast is achieved. The filter is most effective when the camera axis is at approximately 30–40° to reflective surfaces. Because the polarising effect depends on angle and rotation, adjust the filter position for each shot. The ultra-thin mount helps avoid vignetting, but check wide-angle compositions for any corner darkening.

Recommendations

For best results use the filter when photographing skies, bodies of water, windows or other non-metallic reflective surfaces and avoid stacking multiple thick filters on wide-angle lenses to prevent vignetting. Clean the nano-coated glass gently with a soft cloth to preserve the coating.
