Hama Profi Line Circular polarising filter 49 mm with Multi Resistant Coating (MRC) is a precision rotary filter designed to reduce reflections and glare, enhance colour saturation and improve image contrast. Made from high-quality lens glass with multi-layer vapour-deposited coatings and a nano-coating, it also provides basic front-of-lens protection while remaining ultra-flat and lightweight to minimise additional lens bulk and prevent vignetting.

How to use

Screw the 49 mm filter onto the front thread of a compatible lens and rotate the outer ring to adjust the polarisation effect until the desired reduction of reflections and enhancement of colour and contrast is achieved. For strongest polarising effect position the camera at an angle of approximately 30–40° to the reflecting surface. Use the precision rotary mount to fine-tune the effect while viewing through the viewfinder or on the camera LCD.

Recommendations

For best results use this circular polariser mainly for landscape and water scenes and angle the camera about 30–40° relative to the reflective surface; avoid excessive rotation when shooting wide-angle lenses to prevent uneven polarisation and check for vignetting on very wide lenses despite the ultra-thin mount. Store the filter in its box when not in use to protect coatings and threads.
