Charge Amps charging cable Beam 22 kW 6 m Type 2 for electric vehicles

Charge Amps charging cable Beam 22 kW 6 m Type 2 for electric vehicles is a fixed-length, 6 metre Type 2 cable designed for AC charging up to 22 kW. The cable connects electric vehicles to public and private Type 2 charging stations and supports both single-phase and three-phase charging depending on vehicle and charger compatibility. Its construction focuses on flexibility, safe current transfer and straightforward plug-and-play use for everyday charging needs.

Advantages

The Beam cable combines a durable outer jacket with flexible internal conductors to remain manageable even at low temperatures. It supports up to 22 kW AC charging, allowing faster charging where three-phase supply and vehicle capability permit. The Type 2 connectors are compatible with the common European charging standard, providing reliable contact and a stable electrical connection. The 6 m length gives extended reach for varied parking and charging situations while keeping the cable long enough to access many charging points without tension.

Suitable for

• Charging electric cars at public Type 2 AC stations
• Home charging where a fixed-length cable is preferred
• Vehicles capable of single-phase or three-phase AC charging
• Situations requiring a flexible, longer cable for varied parking layouts

Key specifications

• Cable length: 6 metres
• Connector type: Type 2 (Mennekes style) both ends
• Maximum AC power: 22 kW
• Supports single-phase and three-phase AC charging where compatible
• Construction: flexible jacket with multi-core conductors designed for EV charging

How to use

Ensure both the vehicle and the charging station are switched off or in standby according to their instructions. Plug the Type 2 connector fully into the vehicle inlet and the charging station socket until the locking mechanism engages if present. Start the charging session using the station’s interface or the vehicle’s charging controls. Monitor the vehicle’s dashboard or the charging station for charging status and stop the session via the station or vehicle controls before unplugging. Store the cable coiled without tight bends to preserve flexibility and insulation.

Recommendations

Inspect the cable and connectors regularly for wear or damage, avoid dragging the cable over sharp surfaces, and keep connectors dry and free of debris. Use the full 6 m length to reduce strain on connectors when positioning the vehicle, and avoid tight coils when storing to maintain cable life. Follow vehicle and charging station manufacturer instructions for safe charging.
