The PSM 200 AES is a versatile and powerful all-round sander that, weighing just 1.4 kilograms, features a particularly lightweight design. The rectangular sanding plate enables the PSM 200 AES to tackle larger surfaces. Furthermore, there is also a range of different sanding attachments. Thanks to the micro Velcro-type fastening system, the sanding paper can be secured to all sanding plates without risk of slipping and can also be replaced easily within the blink of an eye. Any dust generated is collected in the microfilter box, making work for DIYers even easier. Alternatively, DIYers can also connect an external dust extraction system to the tool’s dust extraction port.

The PSM 200 AES is even more flexible than other multi-sander tools. This is all down to the additional rectangular 18 x 9 centimetre sanding plate. The sanding surface is around 60% larger than previous sanding plates, ensuring that large surfaces can be sanded even more quickly and efficiently. The adjustable speed also plays a key role here. There are six separate speed settings so that the tool can be used on various types of material. To prevent painted surfaces from heating up during sanding, DIYers can select a lower speed at the touch of a button. If you need to sand small or tight surfaces such as the corners of door or window frames, the rectangular sanding plate can be quickly replaced with a delta plate without need for any additional tools thanks to the practical SDS system.

This means that the sander can be used in a comfortable and controlled manner. Furthermore, additional sanding attachments such as a louvre sanding attachment or so-called sanding fingers can also be used. This is particularly useful for sanding in between the rungs on the back of a chair, for example. The PSM 200 AES can therefore cover an entire spectrum of tasks, from the smallest sanding jobs to larger sanding surfaces.

How to use

Attach the appropriate sanding plate for the job: use the rectangular plate for larger flat surfaces and the iron-shaped two-part plate with the delta tip for edges and corners. Secure sanding paper to the plate using the micro Velcro fastening. Select one of the six speed settings according to the material and desired aggressiveness, starting at a lower speed for painted or heat-sensitive surfaces. Move the sander smoothly across the workpiece with one hand on the front grip and the other guiding the tool from the rear for controlled, even sanding. Empty the microfilter box regularly or connect an external dust extraction system to the dust port for extended work sessions.

Recommendations

For best results, start with coarser grit paper to remove material quickly, then progress to finer grits for a smooth finish. Use lower speeds on delicate or painted surfaces to avoid overheating. Replace sanding plates or attach optional accessories without tools using the SDS-style system, and maintain the microfilter box to preserve suction performance.
