Drill bit Smart365 SDS Plus for rebar 16 x 250/300 mm

Smart365 SDS Plus drill bit for rebar 16 x 250/300 mm is a purpose-built masonry and concrete drilling tool with a 16 mm cutting diameter and two overall length options: 250 mm and 300 mm. It is engineered for use in SDS Plus rotary hammers to penetrate reinforced concrete and masonry containing steel rebar. The bit combines a hardened cutting tip and shank geometry designed to withstand the impact and rotational forces of demolition and construction applications where controlled rebar drilling is required.

Advantages

The drill bit provides consistent hole quality when drilling through concrete with embedded reinforcement, reducing the need for multiple tool changes. Its SDS Plus shank ensures quick, secure fitting and reliable power transfer in compatible rotary hammers. The construction of the cutting head and hardened materials extend service life under impact drilling conditions, while the available lengths (250 mm and 300 mm) offer flexibility to reach different drilling depths without sacrificing rigidity.

How to use

Install the bit into an SDS Plus rotary hammer until it locks securely. Select the hammer or rotary mode appropriate for the material and set the drill speed according to the rotary hammer manufacturer's recommendations. Start drilling with light axial pressure, allowing the hammer action to do the work; increase pressure only as needed to maintain progress. When encountering rebar, continue steady drilling—if progress slows significantly, retract the bit periodically to clear debris and then resume. After use, clean the flute and tip of dust and particles to maintain cutting performance and inspect for wear or damage before next use.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves. Match the bit length to the required drilling depth to minimise overhang and reduce bit flexing. For best results in heavily reinforced concrete, use a rotary hammer with sufficient impact energy and follow the tool manufacturer's guidelines for percussion drilling in reinforced materials.
