When it may not be suitable

This SFP28 module is intended for singlemode LC simplex fiber and bidirectional operation using 1330 nm transmit / 1270 nm receive wavelengths. It is not suitable for multimode fiber environments or applications that require different wavelengths, connectors or multimode transceivers. Also ensure the host device supports SFP28 25GBASE-BX-D modules and, if you need remote diagnostics, that the platform supports DDM/DOM.

How to use

Insert the SFP28 transceiver into an SFP28-compatible slot on your switch, router or other network device, taking electrostatic discharge precautions. Connect an LC simplex singlemode patch cable between the module and the remote transceiver; note that the module transmits at 1330 nm and receives at 1270 nm, so the opposite-direction module must be installed at the remote end. Verify link status on the host device and, if available, read DDM/DOM values via the management interface to monitor optical power, supply voltage and temperature.
