The BlueOptics Q28-AOC-7M-CP-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable 7m OM3 is a factory-new active optical cable (AOC) featuring QSFP28 connectors on both ends and OM3 multimode fibre with a 50 µm core diameter. Designed for short-reach, high-speed interconnects within racks or between adjacent racks, this 7 metre AOC converts electrical signals to optical and back again inside the QSFP28 housings to support 100GBASE-SR4 Ethernet and similar InfiniBand links. The cable uses flame-resistant LSZH sheathing for reduced smoke and halogen-free construction and is manufactured to recognized industry MSA, SFF and IEEE guidelines. Each unit is tested before shipment to ensure functional conformity.

Advantages

The active optical design provides lower weight and greater flexibility than passive twinax solutions while maintaining hot-pluggable QSFP28 connectivity. Built-in electrical-to-optical and optical-to-electrical conversion in the QSFP28 ends enables reliable 100 Gb/s transmission over OM3 multimode fibre.
