BEG LUXOMAT PD4-Slave Passive Infrared Presence Detector, 24 m Range, Surface-Mounted, White

Passive infrared slave presence detector for extending the detection area of B.E.G. PD4-M series master units, delivering reliable motion sensing across a 24-metre diameter with 1120 switching segments for precise coverage. This surface-mounted unit operates on a 12–24 V DC bus supply from the master, consuming only 10 mA, and is built with UV-stabilised polycarbonate in white (RAL 9010) to withstand indoor and protected outdoor environments.

Advantages

Extends master detector range without additional switching outputs, simplifying installation in large or complex spaces. The PIR sensor with 1120 segments ensures fine-grained detection, reducing blind spots and false triggers. IP54-rated housing and wide operating temperature range (-25 °C to +50 °C) make it suitable for demanding conditions. Low current draw minimises load on the master unit, and the 3-wire bus connection ensures straightforward integration.

Suitable for

• Expanding coverage in open-plan offices, corridors, and warehouses where a single master detector is insufficient.
• Indoor areas with occasional humidity or dust, such as entrance halls, stairwells, and covered parking.
• Protected outdoor zones like loading docks or under canopies, when paired with a compatible master.
• Projects requiring cost-effective zoning without additional control wiring.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, mount the PD4-Slave at a height of 3 m (range 2.5–10 m) and ensure clear line of sight to the monitored area. Use only with B.E.G. PD4-M master detectors; do not connect directly to mains voltage. In outdoor installations, position under shelter to maintain IP54 protection and extend sensor life.
