Back Protector Cairn PRO IMPAKT Jr. D3O size 175 for youth (8/10)

The Cairn PRO IMPAKT Jr. D3O back protector in size 175 (youth 8/10) is designed to provide ergonomic spinal protection for young athletes engaged in skiing, snowboarding and other action sports. Constructed with D3O impact-absorbing material, this youth model aims to reduce the force transferred to the back during falls and collisions while maintaining mobility and a slim profile that fits under or integrates with outerwear and protective jackets.

Advantages

The protector uses D3O advanced impact-absorbing compound that remains flexible during movement and hardens on impact to dissipate energy. Its anatomical shape follows the spine to offer continuous coverage without restricting torso movement. Lightweight construction and slim design make it comfortable for extended wear, and ventilation channels help manage heat and moisture during active use.

Suitable for

• Skiing and alpine sports for youth
• Snowboarding and freestyle riding
• Winter mountain activities where spine protection is needed
• Park and urban action sports with risk of falls

Key specifications

• Size: 175 (youth 8/10)
• Protection material: D3O impact-absorbing compound
• Coverage: full spinal coverage adapted for youth body shape
• Design: ergonomic, slim profile suitable for wearing under jackets
• Ventilation: integrated channels for airflow and moisture management

How to use

Put the back protector on so that the central spine panel aligns with the wearer’s spine and adjust straps or fastenings to ensure a snug but not restrictive fit. Confirm that the lower edge sits above the tailbone and the upper edge reaches the base of the neck without pressing uncomfortably. Use the protector beneath a jacket or secure it with compatible outerwear attachments when available. Inspect the protector for visible damage before each use and replace it if the D3O panels show cracking or deformation after a significant impact.

Recommendations

Choose the correct size for close alignment with the torso; ensure straps are adjusted to prevent shifting during activity. Follow manufacturer care instructions: avoid machine washing if not recommended, clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent, and store the protector flat in a dry place away from direct heat or sunlight to preserve the D3O material properties.
