SDI (Serial digital interface) is a professional video signal that’s preferred in production environments, providing longer distance without video compression with reliability. BNC-type cable that has specialized connectors on each end to lock into the devices they connect to, so it cannot be easily dropped or pulled out. Compare with general 3G-SDI, 12G-SDI provides up to 4x bandwidth allows receiving and transmitting uncompressed up to 4K@60Hz video footage directly from camera devices with ultra-low latency.

How to use

Connect the PA16USV to your video source using the appropriate input: use 12G-SDI for uncompressed 4K@60Hz feeds from professional cameras or capture devices, USB-C (DP Alt Mode) for single-cable video and data, or HDMI for standard sources. Choose PiP or PbP modes when monitoring multiple inputs simultaneously and configure each window's color profile as needed (sRGB, Adobe RGB, DCI-P3, Rec.2020 or user modes). Use the mini stand or kickstand for desktop setups, or mount the monitor via VESA or the 1/4"-20 sockets for on-set rigging. Use the QuickFit Plus overlays to verify framing and safe areas during shooting.

Recommendations

For the most accurate on-set preview, allow the monitor to warm up for at least 30 minutes before critical color grading, use the factory calibration and Calman verification as a baseline, and route 4K signals over 12G-SDI where low-latency, uncompressed video is required. Reuse the included carton as a hood to reduce reflections in bright environments.
