Nail gun Paslode IM45 Impulse — cordless gas-actuated framing nailer (MPN 18601)

Paslode IM45 Impulse is a cordless gas-actuated framing nailer designed for heavy-duty wood framing and structural carpentry. The tool combines a gas fuel cell and rechargeable battery to drive paper-collated framing nails without the need for a compressor or hose. It supports both sequential and contact nailing modes, providing options for controlled single nails or fast repetitive fastening on site. The nailer is intended for framing, roof sheathing, timber assembly and similar tasks where mobility and rapid fixing are required.

Advantages

The cordless design eliminates hoses and compressors, improving on-site mobility and reducing setup time. Gas-actuated firing delivers consistent power suited to dense framing timber while the battery maintains ignition reliability across a workday. Compatibility with paper-collated framing nails simplifies reloads and ensures accurate feeding. A selectable nailing mode lets users choose between increased speed and enhanced safety and precision.

How to use

Load the magazine with the recommended paper-collated framing nails and install a compatible gas fuel cell and charged battery following the manufacturer's safety and installation instructions. Select the desired nailing mode—sequential for single controlled shots or contact for rapid firing—then position the nose plate firmly against the workpiece. Depress the trigger to fire nails, keeping the tool perpendicular to the surface for best drive depth and angle. Regularly check fuel and battery levels and inspect the fastener feed to prevent jams; clear any obstructions according to safety procedures.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye and hearing protection. Test drive nails on scrap timber to confirm depth and holding before proceeding with final assembly. Store fuel cells and batteries as directed by the manufacturer and replace worn or damaged components to maintain consistent performance.
