Abrasive Cloth 200 mm 120 Grit KLINGSPOR KL 381 J (MPN 266330)

Abrasive Cloth 200 mm 120 Grit KLINGSPOR KL 381 J is a cloth-backed abrasive designed for manual and machine sanding of metal, wood and painted surfaces. With a 200 mm diameter and 120 grit, it offers medium-coarse cutting action for material removal and surface preparation. The KL 381 J construction delivers consistent abrasive performance and enhanced durability for use on flap discs, sanding pads or custom-cut sheets where stable results are required.

Advantages

The cloth backing provides dimensional stability and resistance to tearing under load, while the 120 grit abrasive balance ensures efficient stock removal without excessive surface roughness. KLINGSPOR’s formulation maintains cutting consistency throughout the life of the disc and reduces clogging on softer materials and painted surfaces. The product is compatible with common sanding accessories and retains shape under moderate speed and pressure during both manual and powered operations.

Suitable for

• Sanding and blending of ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces
• Surface preparation of painted or coated substrates prior to refinishing
• Shaping and smoothing of solid wood and engineered wood components
• Use on flap discs, sanding pads or for custom-cut abrasive sheets

Key specifications

• Diameter: 200 mm
• Abrasion grade: 120 grit (medium-coarse)
• Backing: cloth for durability and dimensional stability
• Intended applications: metal, wood, painted surfaces
• Suitable for both manual sanding and machine sanding operations

How to use

Select the appropriate holder or backing pad compatible with a 200 mm abrasive cloth and ensure secure mounting before operation. For machine sanding, follow the tool manufacturer’s recommended speed and safety instructions. Apply moderate, even pressure and work with the abrasive’s cutting action to avoid glazing; for painted surfaces, begin with light passes to assess material removal rate. Replace the cloth when cutting performance declines or when the backing shows signs of wear or damage.

Recommendations

Use personal protective equipment such as safety goggles, dust mask and gloves when sanding. Clean the workpiece of loose debris before sanding and dispose of worn abrasive material according to local regulations. For consistent results, match the 120 grit cloth with finer or coarser grits as part of a progressive sanding sequence depending on the required surface finish.
