Action sports camera Insta360 X5 — 72 MP, 8K Ultra HD (7680×3840), 120 fps, waterproof 15 m, 2400 mAh

The Insta360 X5 is a professional 360° action camera offering larger 1/1.28" sensors, a Triple AI Chip system, and advanced image processing for true-to-life colors and high clarity. It captures 11K supersampled to 8K video, supports 60fps action modes, 72MP 360° photos, and improved low-light performance with AI noise reduction. The X5 features replaceable lenses, a harder optical film for better scratch and drop resistance, FlowState stabilization, 360° horizon lock, and a magnetic snap-on mounting system. It is waterproof to 49 ft (15 m) without accessories and up to 197 ft (60 m) with the Invisible Dive Case. Battery life is extended with a 2400mAh cell that records up to 185 minutes. Dedicated audio improvements include a multi-layer Wind Guard, upgraded wind-noise reduction algorithm, and support for the compact Mic Air accessory for pro-level audio and remote control. The camera also provides Smart Flat Video for instant shareable flat footage, MaxView wide POV, and extensive AI-powered mobile and cloud editing tools for reframing, automatic cloud backup, and quick sharing.

Advantages

High-resolution 360° capture with 11K-to-8K supersampling and 72MP photos produces detailed, immersive content. Larger sensors and Triple AI Chip processing improve color fidelity and low-light clarity. Replaceable lenses and a tougher optical film increase field durability and simplify repairs. Upgraded stabilization and 60fps capture enhance motion clarity, while 360° horizon lock keeps shots level during intense movement. Audio is improved by a multi-layer Wind Guard and advanced noise-reduction algorithms; Mic Air enables professional wireless audio and remote control. Extended battery life and a magnetic snap-on mount make longer shoots and quick setup easier, while Smart Flat Video and AI reframing tools reduce editing time.

How to use

Power on the X5, choose a shooting mode (360° capture, Smart Flat Video, or First-Person POV), and start recording with the dedicated button, palm gesture, or voice control. For action shots, enable FlowState stabilization and 360° horizon lock; select 60fps mode for smoother motion. Use replaceable lenses to swap damaged optics quickly. Mount the camera using the magnetic snap-on system or attach accessories such as Mic Air for improved audio. For underwater use, fit the Invisible Dive Case before submersion if shooting below 15 m. After recording, transfer files to the Insta360 app for AI reframing, Smart Flat Video export, cloud backup, and further editing with Shot Lab or Insta360 Studio on desktop.

Recommendations

For best image quality, shoot in high-resolution 11K-to-8K supersampling when possible and enable AI noise reduction in low-light conditions. Use the Wind Guard and Mic Air for clear audio during high-speed activities. Keep a spare battery on hand for extended shoots and carry replacement lenses if filming in harsh environments. For quick social shares, use Smart Flat Video or AI reframing in the mobile app to export ready-to-share clips.
