How to use

Install the RSGE-24 in a 19" rack using the supplied mounting ears or place it on a stable surface. Connect Ethernet devices to the RJ-45 ports; the switch is unmanaged so no software configuration is required for basic switching. To enable long-distance low-speed links, set the physical switch on the housing to "Extend 250 m"; to isolate edge ports from each other while allowing traffic to pass to uplink ports, set the housing switch to "VLAN". Provide appropriate power and ensure network cabling follows standards to achieve reliable Gigabit performance.

Recommendations

Use the Extend 250 m mode only for devices that operate at reduced speeds (up to 10 Mbps) and when higher-speed links are not required. Enable the VLAN port-isolation option in installations where device separation enhances security, such as surveillance, access control or alarm systems. Ensure proper grounding and surge protection for outdoor or long-distance deployments despite the built-in 2 kV ESD protection.
