The Lanberg RSFE-16P-2C-250 is an unmanaged 1U rack-mount Gigabit Ethernet switch with 18 RJ-45 ports, including 16 PoE+ Fast Ethernet ports and 2 Combo Gigabit uplink ports. It supports IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards and provides a total PoE budget of up to 250 W while handling data traffic simultaneously. The device is suitable for home, business, surveillance, VoIP, cable TV, alarm, fire and access control installations where remote devices require both power and network connectivity.

How to use

Install the switch in a 19" rack using the supplied mounting ears and secure with appropriate screws. Connect uplink ports to the network core or NVR and attach PoE devices such as IP cameras, access controllers or VoIP phones to ports 1–16. The switch will automatically provide data and negotiate PoE/PoE+ power per connected device following IEEE standards. To enable extended reach for distant PoE devices, set the physical selector on the housing to "PoE+ Extend 250 m", which limits data rate to 10 Mbps while supplying power up to 250 metres.

Recommendations

For critical devices that must remain powered during PoE budget contention, connect them to lower-numbered PoE ports. If total PoE demand exceeds the budget, the switch disconnects PoE starting from the highest-numbered ports until the load is within limits. Ensure proper grounding and use surge protection where the environment is prone to electrical disturbances.
