The Grandstream Networks GWN7701 is an unmanaged gigabit Ethernet switch designed to provide reliable wired connectivity for small to medium-sized networks. It features eight Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports that support 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds and full-duplex operation. With a switching capacity of 16 Gbit/s and a compact, lightweight black enclosure powered by a 5V DC input, this switch is intended for straightforward plug-and-play deployment where simple, high-speed local connectivity is required.

Advantages

The GWN7701 offers plug-and-play simplicity without the need for configuration, making deployment fast and uncomplicated. Its eight Gigabit ports deliver high-throughput wired connections for computers, access points, IP phones and other networked devices. Compliance with multiple Ethernet and security standards ensures interoperability and basic network protection, while the small form factor and low weight make it easy to place on a desktop or mount in constrained spaces.

Suitable for

  • Small office or home office wired networks
  • Connecting access points, IP phones and desktop PCs
  • Expanding existing wired infrastructure in retail or hospitality environments
  • Temporary network setups for events or installations

Key specifications

  • Port type: Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 (10/100/1000 Mbps)
  • Number of ports: 8
  • Switching capacity: 16 Gbit/s
  • MAC address table size: supports 2k entries
  • Supported networking standards: IEEE 802.1p, IEEE 802.1x, IEEE 802.3ab, IEEE 802.3ae, IEEE 802.3af, IEEE 802.3aq, IEEE 802.3at, IEEE 802.3bz, IEEE 802.3i, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3x
  • Power input: 5V DC
  • Color: Black
  • Weight: 0.17 kg

How to use

Place the switch on a stable surface or secure it in the chosen location near your network devices and power source. Connect the supplied 5V DC power adapter to the switch and plug it into a power outlet. Use standard Ethernet cables to connect network devices to the RJ-45 ports; the device will automatically negotiate link speed and duplex settings. No configuration is required for basic operation—devices attached to the switch will communicate across the wired network immediately after physical connections and power are established.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use Cat5e or higher Ethernet cables to achieve Gigabit speeds and minimize electromagnetic interference. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit and avoid placing it in direct sunlight or near heat sources. When connecting power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices, verify that those devices receive power from a suitable PoE injector or switch, since this unmanaged switch does not supply PoE power itself.
