The KWB 248055 twist drill bit is a single-piece right-hand rotation HSS-Co drill manufactured to DIN 338 standards. Made with a 5% cobalt alloy, it is intended for precise drilling in demanding materials including alloyed and unalloyed steel, stainless steel (V2A/V4A), grey cast iron, cast steel, bronze and plastics. The 135° point with a split point according to DIN 1412 C provides self-centring action and reduces slipping during start-up. The drill has a parallel shank for universal compatibility with standard drilling machines.

How to use

Select a drill speed appropriate for the material being worked (lower speeds for stainless steel and harder alloys). Secure the workpiece and clamp the parallel shank firmly in the drill chuck. Use steady feed pressure and, where necessary, apply cutting lubricant when drilling metals to reduce heat and extend tool life. Start drilling at low speed to let the split point self-centre, then increase speed as the hole progresses.
