Tripod Sirui SP004 with G5X — lightweight portable tripod with G5X ball head

Sirui SP004 with G5X is a lightweight portable tripod system combining compact carbon-fiber legs with a G5X ball head for precise camera positioning. The set is intended to provide stable support for mirrorless and compact DSLR cameras while remaining small enough for travel and outdoor shoots. The tripod folds down to a compact size and offers adjustable leg angles and height settings to suit different shooting conditions.

Advantages

The tripod offers a balance of low weight and rigidity thanks to its carbon-fiber construction, making it convenient for transport without sacrificing stability. The included G5X ball head enables smooth, repeatable adjustments and secure locking for rapid framing changes. Quick-release compatibility and adjustable leg angles provide versatility on uneven terrain, and the compact folded length simplifies storage and packing.

Suitable for

• Travel and landscape photography where low weight and compact size are priorities
• Outdoor shoots requiring rapid setup on uneven ground
• Studio and tabletop work with small to medium-sized cameras
• Videography and timelapse applications that need stable support and flexible framing

Key specifications

• Material: carbon-fiber legs for reduced weight and increased stiffness
• Head type: G5X ball head for 360° rotation and multi-angle adjustment
• Height range: adjustable to multiple working heights through extendable legs
• Folded length: compact folding design suitable for backpacks and carry-on luggage
• Load capacity: designed to support mirrorless and compact DSLR camera setups with standard lenses
• Leg sections and angle settings: multiple leg sections with selectable angle stops for stability on uneven surfaces

How to use

Unfold the legs and extend the sections to the desired height, selecting leg angle stops for optimal stability. Mount your camera to the quick-release plate on the G5X ball head and secure the head lock. Use the ball head’s tension and rotation controls to position the camera, then tighten the locking mechanism to fix the composition. Adjust leg spread and height as needed for low-angle or elevated shots. When finished, reverse the steps: unlock the head, remove the camera, collapse the leg sections and fold the tripod into its compact transport configuration.

Recommendations

Use a ball-head tension setting appropriate to your camera weight to avoid slippage. For long exposures or windy conditions, increase leg spread and lower the center column if applicable, and consider adding weight to the tripod hook if available. Regularly check and tighten leg locks and head fasteners before each shoot to maintain stability and prolong component life.
