Tile cutting tool RUBI HIT-1600 PLUS, manual tile scribe and scoring device

RUBI HIT-1600 PLUS is a handheld tile scribing and scoring device designed for controlled manual scoring of ceramic and porcelain tiles. The tool produces uniform straight scores to facilitate clean breaking along the scored line, enabling precise on-site adjustments and finishing work. Compact and portable, the RUBI HIT-1600 PLUS is intended for tilers who require a simple, reliable solution for straight cuts and short trims without using powered machinery.

Advantages

The RUBI HIT-1600 PLUS combines a stable guide system with an adjustable scoring head to deliver consistent depth and straightness of the score. Its manual operation eliminates the need for power, making it convenient for quick interventions and mobile use. The construction is lightweight yet rigid enough to maintain alignment during scoring, and the device accepts standard carbide or tungsten scoring wheels for long service life and repeatable results.

Suitable for

• Scoring and breaking ceramic wall and floor tiles
• Trimming porcelain tiles and rectified formats
• On-site adjustments during installation
• Finishing cuts near edges, fixtures and corners

Key specifications

• Manual handheld tile scribe and scoring mechanism
• Adjustable scoring head for controlled depth
• Guide system for straight-line scoring
• Compatible with replaceable carbide/tungsten scoring wheels
• Compact and portable design for on-site use
• Suitable for ceramic and porcelain tiles, including rectified edges

How to use

Place the tile on a stable, flat surface and align the RUBI HIT-1600 PLUS along the intended cut line. Adjust the scoring head to the required depth according to tile thickness and secure the guide to maintain a straight path. Score the tile with steady pressure in a single continuous pass or several light passes as needed to achieve an even groove. After scoring, apply controlled bending pressure along the scored line or use a small breaker bar to separate the tile cleanly along the groove.

Recommendations

Use a new or well-maintained scoring wheel for best results and check wheel compatibility before operation. For thick or very hard porcelain tiles, perform several light scoring passes rather than a single heavy pass to reduce chipping. Wear appropriate eye protection and gloves while scoring and breaking tiles, and ensure the workpiece is supported to avoid uneven breaks.
