Tape TESA 4959 50 m Paper Suitable for indoor and outdoor use

tesa® 4959 is a double-sided non-woven mounting and splicing tape with a tackified acrylic adhesive, designed for mounting signs, nameplates and for high-performance lamination where flexible materials must be joined. It provides strong initial grab and good shear strength, and is formulated to resist humidity, UV exposure and short-term heat up to 200°C. The adhesive is coated on a flexible cellulose non-woven backing that conforms to irregular 3D shapes. A 160 µm variant is available as tesa® 4962.

Advantages

The tape tolerates environmental stresses including humidity and UV light and withstands short thermal peaks up to 200°C. How to use

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust, oil or release agents before application. Cut the tape to the required length, remove the liner and press the tape firmly onto the first substrate. Join the second substrate and apply pressure across the bonded area to improve contact and shear performance. For best results, allow time for adhesive wetting and avoid loading the joint immediately when possible.

Recommendations

Use at room temperature for optimal initial tack; avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures above 80°C in continuous service. For high-temperature short-term processes (up to 200°C), verify performance on a representative sample. Store rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
