The UNITEK SolidForce Reefer is an M.2 SSD enclosure that supports one M.2 drive (PCIe/NVMe and SATA/AHCI) in sizes 2242, 2260 and 2280, and accommodates modules with a heatsink up to 12.5 mm height. The grey aluminium housing with fins and a hollowed internal layout improves heat dissipation while the USB Type-C interface delivers USB 3.2 Gen 2 SuperSpeed transfers up to 10 Gbit/s, backward compatible with earlier USB generations.

Advantages

How to use

Open the enclosure, insert a compatible M.2 SSD (2242/2260/2280, NVMe or SATA) ensuring correct orientation for the M-key or B+M-key notch, place the silicone thermal pad against the drive if required, then close and secure the housing. Connect the enclosure to a host device using the supplied USB Type-C cable; the drive should be recognised by the operating system. If necessary, format the drive or initialise partitions before first use.

Recommendations

For best thermal performance, use the included aluminium heat exchanger and position the enclosure in a well-ventilated area. Ensure the host system supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 to achieve maximum transfer speeds; otherwise performance will default to the highest supported USB version.
