Standard ISO range is extended to ISO 100-51200 (expandable to ISO 50-204800 for stills), while Detail Reproduction and Area-specific Noise Reduction technologies maintain image details and cut noise. Steadier shots with 5-axis stabilization

Full-pixel readout without binning in 35-mm full-frame mode makes it possible to condense approx. 2.4 times the data required for 4K movies (QFHD: 3840 x 2160), minimizing moiré and jaggies. Full-frame or Super 35-mm mode can be selected as needed. Furthermore, 4K recording employs XAVC S format at bitrates as high as 100 Mbps.

How to use

Mount the 28–70mm kit lens and power on the camera. Set shooting mode according to your task (Auto, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual). Use the shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings to control exposure; enable 5-axis stabilization for slower shutter speeds when handheld. For moving subjects, select continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking and consider AF-C with Eye AF enabled for portraits. For video, choose 4K recording and select HLG or S‑Log depending on whether you require instant HDR playback or extensive color grading. Use the touchscreen for Touch Focus and Touch Pad focus control in the viewfinder. Transfer large files via USB-C or Wi‑Fi for tethered or remote workflows.

Recommendations

For best image quality, shoot RAW or RAW+JPEG at lower ISO values when possible, enable 5-axis stabilization for handheld shots, and use UHS-II cards for continuous shooting and high-bitrate 4K recording. When filming in mixed lighting, enable Anti-flicker and choose HLG for immediate HDR results or S-Log if you plan to color grade in post.
