Smartwatch Garmin Instinct 2S Solar

The Garmin Instinct 2S Solar is a rugged GPS smartwatch engineered for outdoor endurance and everyday wear. It features a fiber-reinforced polymer case, chemically strengthened Corning® Gorilla® Glass, a 0.79" (2.01 cm) MIP display with 156 x 156 resolution, and a lightweight 43 g construction. The watch is water-rated to 100 metres, offers solar charging to extend battery life, and includes multi-GNSS support, ABC sensors and built-in sports apps for comprehensive activity tracking.

Advantages

The device combines military-grade durability with a compact design and color options to suit personal style. Solar charging extends runtime—allowing extremely long smartwatch operation and battery-saver modes—while Power Manager lets you control power drains. Integrated GPS, GLONASS and Galileo improve location tracking in challenging environments. Additional features such as TracBack routing, wrist-based heart rate, Pulse Ox, sleep and stress monitoring, and Garmin Pay contactless payments add practical value for both outdoor activities and daily use.

Use the activity profiles to start workouts or outdoor activities; the ABC sensors (altimeter, barometer, compass) and multi-GNSS will assist navigation. Enable TracBack to return to your starting point, and monitor health metrics such as heart rate, Pulse Ox, sleep and stress via the dedicated widgets in the watch interface and in the Garmin Connect app.

Recommendations

For best battery performance, enable solar charging and use Power Manager to disable unused sensors or features. Update the watch firmware via Garmin Connect, and calibrate sensors (altimeter, compass) periodically for accurate navigation readings. Use incident detection and live location sharing only when paired with your phone and in areas with adequate connectivity.
