Sleeping bag DEUTER Orbit EL -5 (200 cm) synthetic, left zip, ivy/ink

DEUTER Orbit EL -5 (200 cm) is a synthetic sleeping bag designed for overnight outdoor use in temperatures down to -5°C. The mummy-like cut and 200 cm length provide close thermal fit and space for taller users while synthetic insulation maintains loft when damp and is easier to care for than natural fill. The left-side zipper configuration and compact packability make this model suitable for multi-day camping, trekking and situations where reliable cold-weather protection and straightforward maintenance are priorities.

Advantages

The synthetic insulation offers consistent thermal performance in wet and humid conditions and dries faster than down, reducing downtime after exposure to moisture. The mummy-style shape concentrates warmth around the torso and head while minimizing excess volume. A left-side zipper allows conventional sleeping arrangements and easier access for users accustomed to left-entry bags. The 200 cm length accommodates taller sleepers and the outer materials are chosen to balance durability and weight for outdoor use.

How to use

Use the sleeping bag on a sleeping pad to insulate from ground cold and improve overall warmth. Open the left-side zipper and step or slide into the bag, then close the zipper to retain heat. Adjust clothing layers inside the bag according to ambient temperature; use a liner for added insulation or easier washing. After use, air the bag thoroughly and store it loosely in a dry place to preserve loft and insulation properties. For extended trips, compress the bag in a small stuff sack only while transporting and avoid long-term compressed storage.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, pair the sleeping bag with an insulated sleeping pad rated for the expected conditions and a fitted pillow or clothes roll to minimize heat loss from the head area. Follow care instructions on the product label for washing and drying to maintain insulation and fabric integrity.
