Shoes SCARPA Instinct VSR

Precision and power on steep terrain demand a shoe that can grip the smallest edges and smear with confidence. The SCARPA Instinct VSR answers that call with a moderately downturned, asymmetric profile that channels force to the big toe while maintaining sensitivity for technical footwork. Its Bi-Tension Active Randing system wraps the foot securely, reducing stretch and keeping the shoe snug through every heel hook and toe cam. Whether you're projecting a boulder problem or redpointing a sport route, this shoe delivers the performance you need to push your limits.

Who is it for

The Instinct VSR is built for intermediate to advanced climbers who tackle steep boulders, overhanging sport routes, and technical sequences. It suits climbers who want a balance of downturned power and all-day comfort, thanks to its medium-stiff midsole and unlined microsuede upper. The hook-and-loop closure allows quick on/off between attempts, making it a favorite for gym sessions and crag days alike.

Tips

For best performance, size the Instinct VSR snugly—many climbers choose a half to full size down from their street shoe. The unlined upper will stretch slightly, so a tight initial fit is normal. Allow the shoes to air dry after use to maintain the rubber's stickiness. Pair with a chalk bag and brush for optimal friction on greasy holds.
